Mobile Physical Therapy Continuing Education Gets a Big Boost
Physical Therapy Continuing Education courses have largely been delivered in a few vanilla flavors. This is not to address the content of such courses, merely the means by which the physical therapists experiences the material. For example, a physical therapsist could attend a live training workshop. This obviously is the most widely accepted means of delivery. A physical therapist could also take a written home study. Today, with some great new technology the possibilities have really opened up. We recently started development of our ipad e-learning applications. While it can be debated as to the success of the Ipad in general clearly it represents a revolution in delivery of medical related information. The concept of hand held, low energy use, clear and large screen technology will change the way we work in the medical field. Just like the first cellphone (mine was actually in a briefcase), this technology will grow into an entire new delivery means for information. I am a self confessed gadget person. I would never wait inline, or sleep outside a store for a gadget but I admire technology. My first thoughts when I see a new gadget is "how can it help me deliver medical imagery and information". The Ipad is a home run in that area. It has a large amount of memory configuration, beautiful screen and accessibility option (Wifi, 3g) that make the device limitless to information access. Look for a online video of our IPad application as we will be featuring this new technology on our many websites and e-learning delivery platforms.
