This two-day physical therapy continuing education course promises an in-depth look at evaluating and treating selected shoulder complex conditions. Taught by internationally known speaker, researcher and author Dr. George J. Davies, it’s designed for physical therapists, physical therapy assistants, occupational therapists and athletic trainers.
It’s just one of dozens of PT CEU courses offered within the next year. Students will spend more than a third of their class time in hands-on lab sessions. They’ll use case studies, clinical reasoning and problem-solving skills to tackle the latest information available on disorders like frozen shoulder syndrome (adhesive capsulitis), a condition that affects around 2 percent of Americans.
This shoulder complex physical therapy continuing education course focuses on an algorithm-based exam format for special shoulder tests. Students will learn specific techniques for mobilization, rhythmic stabilization, perturbation and open and closed chain exercises. The training is all about evidence-based medicine when it comes to examining, treating and evaluating a patient’s outcome.
Students will gain an understanding of how to use available resources to research current best practices. They’ll learn to develop successful therapeutic intervention programs by using clinical reasoning skills when they evaluate exam findings. By the end of the training, they’ll able to classify all the shoulder disorders presented during the course and develop an effective rehabilitation program for each one.
This course teaches professionals to compare and contrast the most current medical advances for examining, evaluating, diagnosis, treating, and evaluating both the prognosis and the outcome of each shoulder complex discussed. Participants will also gain skill in looking at outcomes in order to impact future treatment models.
